Job 11:18 ISV

Hi, thank you for taking the time to visit my webpage.  Counseling children and families are my passion.  I believe that healthy relationships begin with a faith base within the family unit.  I want to assist your family (whether an individual, couple or the entire family) to discover the tools that will help you live constructive, full lives for yourself and with one another.  Below is a little about my professional background.

I  received my Bachelor's in Social Work from Methodist University in 2002, Master's in Social Work with a child mental health focus from University of North Carolina-Chapel Hill in 2004 and became a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in 2006. I worked at a county mental health center in Fayetteville, NC, assisting children and families with various issues and problems such as anxiety, depression, bereavement, low self-worth, Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder, Oppositional Defiant Disorder, adjustment disorders, anger, other behavior problems and suicidal ideations. I developed individual and family treatment plans and facilitated family counseling. Parents were provided education/skills to help them  establish boundaries in the home and to maintain the relationship with their children.

For a short time from 2010-2012 I worked at a private practice providing Christian counseling to individuals experiencing anxiety, depression,  the journey of grief, emotional/self-regulation problems and parent/child relational issues.

Recently I received training to become a Certified Clinical Trauma Professional to provide treatment for those who suffer from PTSD or have experienced and/ or exposed  to a trauma or grief and loss.

I am a Veteran, serving in the Army as a mental health specialist from 1991-2001.  Most of my enlistment was spent at Ft.Bragg, NC where I counseled soldiers on marital, occupational and social issues. I developed and facilitated stress management classes along with educating soldiers on suicide awareness and alcohol abuse/dependence.   The experiences as a soldier, wife and mother increased my knowledge of individuals (especially under stress) and understanding the unique dynamics of military families.   As a bonus,  I jumped out of  perfectly good airplanes!!

Originally from St. Petersburg, FL, I have been back  since 2007, with my husband and our four children, ages 15 to 25.

I  know your life is busy, often with many stressors, so that is why I will come to your home. You have one less place to drive in your daily schedule.
